So, you are looking for an inbound marketing agency. With so many agencies out there vying for your business how do you find the one that is right for you?
Our founder, Chris, recently spoke as a panelist on a webinar discussing how to discern a good agency from one that is not so good. You can view a recording of the broadcast here:
Here are the main points he discussed about what to look for when picking an inbound agency to partner with:
1. Hire an agency that walks the talk.
You wouldn't hire an obese personal trainer so why would you hire an agency that tells you to do things that they have never done themselves? Look for an agency that has put into practice all the things they are suggesting for you.
2. Hire an agency that has a system in place to measure results.
It is vital that you partner with an agency that works with you to set goals and regularly measures and analyzes the progress. Ask how results will be measured and settle on key performance indicators (KPIs).
3. Hire an agency that seeks to understand you, your company, your industry, your customers and your goals.
If an agency offers you a "one size fits all plan" you should tell them thank you but no thank you. Every industry is different, every company is different and what works for one may not work for another.
You want to work with an inbound marketing agency that customizes their work to help you reach your goals. You also want to make sure that they are willing to continually tweak and make changes to ensure that together you are developing a strategy that is producing results.
The bottom line is that you want to build a relationship with an inbound marketing agency that is as vested in your success as you are. You should be looking to hire an agency that will help you reach your goals now and in the future.
