Using Facebook for your business can at times be confusing and overwhelming. In order to make your business thrive on Facebook you need to know how Facebook works and how to optImize your page.
Insights- The last 500 posts on your page. These posts will be evaluated with four metrics: Reach, Engaged Users, Talking About This, and Virality.
Reach- Reach measures the number of people who have received impressions of a Page post. Since one person can see multiple immersions the reach number might be less then the impressions number.
Engaged Users- the number of users who took some type of action around one of your posts. These actions could include clicking on a link, or viewing a photo of video.
Talking About This- the number of users who took a more active action on your page. This activity includes: liking your posts, photos, or videos, commenting on your posts, and sharing your posts.
Virality- Virality percentage is found by taking the number of people "Talking About This" and dividing that number by your "Reach".
Each Facebook page has a profile picture. Make sure that your business' profile picture is a good representation of your business. Many companies choose to set their logo as their profile picture. Just make sure whatever you choose is current and relative to your business.
The "About" section of your page is a snapshot of who you are and what you do. This section is limited to 255 characters so make it short and simple. This is a great area to add a ink to your website and introduce your company. You will also want to make sure that your phone number, hours, address and other basic information is filled in and correct.
Content is key! Write content that is current, useful and engaging to your audience. People don't want to just be sold on your page. Your Facebook page is a vehicle to form relationships with clients, friends or clients and even strangers. Social media allows us to reach more people than ever. Ask yourself if you would be compelled to act or respond based off of the content on your page? If you answer no than you must make a change!
The No Nos
- Never use your business Facebook page as a personal platform.
- Never post negative comments about your competition, employees, vendors or clients. This goes back to the old adage: "If you can't say something nice than say nothing at all".
- Never react with anger when responding to a post made on your page by someone else. A negative can be turned into a positive and this could be a great opportunity to let your stellar customer service skills shine.
Facebook Business pages have revolutionized the way you can interact with your clients and potential clients. Make sure you are utilizing your Business Facebook Page to be all that it can be- make it work for you!
