These five cloud based apps help us run our online marketing business on the go, so we thought we'd share our knowledge.
1. Evernote- Remember Everything
Evernote is an easy-to-use, free app that helps you remember everything across all of the devices you use. Stay organized, save your ideas and improve productivity. Evernote lets you take notes, capture photos, create to-do lists, record voice reminders--and makes these notes completely searchable, whether you are at home, at work, or on the go.
We use Evernote to keep track of all the different things we need to hang onto.
- Photos of whiteboards after meetings are all kept in a shared folder for all meeting attendees.
- Clips from the web that we need to organize for a marketing research project.
- Web design files are stored in client folders for easy access from anywhere.
- We could go on and on. Literally everything goes into evernote.
2. Dropbox- Access it All from Anywhere
Dropbox lets you bring all your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Access any file you save to your Dropbox from all of your computers, iPhone, iPad, and even the Dropbox website! One of the best features of Dropbox is that you share links to large files so there is no longer a need for large attachments!
When we need to share large files with online marketing clients, we go to Dropbox. We utilize this for any project that requires multi-location file sharing.
3. FreshBooks- Cloud based Accounting
FreshBooks is easy cloud accounting for small businesses and freelancers, specifically designed to save you time billing clients. Create professional invoices, capture expenses with ease and effortlessly track time on projects. FreshBook also helps you when tax time rolls around.
Tracking time and setting up recurring payments for clients on retainer services has never been easier than with Freshbooks.
4. Tripit- Organize your Travel
Get peace of mind while traveling by having all your plans in one place. Tripit "automagically" takes all your trip details and creates one truly helpful itinerary that's there when and where you need it- on your iPhone or iPad, sync'd with your calendar, and online at trip it.com.
When travelling to meet our inbound marketing clients in Austin and New York, we need to make sure we have all our information at the ready.
5. Linkedin- The World's Largest Professional Network
Get on-the-go access to your professional network. Stay up-to-date with people in your network, sync your calendar to get Linkedin profile information about the people you are meeting with, view and recommend jobs and read the latest industry news.
Keeping track of business contacts and finding new ones puts LinkedIn on our shortlist for relationship building and sales management.
Pandora Radio- Free personalized radio
Pandora Radio is free personalized radio that only plays music you’ll love. Just start with the name of one of your favorite artists, songs or classical composers and Pandora will create a custom "station" that plays similar music.
What good is all this time saved if there arent any tunes playing! Being on the go means that we don't always have time to update our playlists, or discover new music by hand. Pandora fills both of these needs and helps create the right mood for any setting.
