Swag for On-site Apartment Management Teams: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
So you want to get your foot in the door with a new on-site management team, or you are looking to delight some of your current customers and you're thinking a letter opener with your company's logo on it will do the trick- think again.
Here are four promotional products property managers and their teams can live without:
So if property managers don't want your branded letter opener, what do they want? When I was an on-site manager there was an insurance agent that would bring Nothing Bundt Cake Bundtinis to my entire staff (if you haven't had one you're missing out big time). Now talk about being excited to see someone. How many people looking for renter's insurance did we send her way? A lot. We remembered the delightful experience of snacking on our Bundtinis. Do you think a letter openers evokes the same response?
Another vendor I worked with would bring a cooler around with all different types of frozen treats. Texas summers can be downright miserable but having a sweet frozen treat can offer a little relief.
Finally, a landscaper I used to work with would give out poinsettias during the holiday season. This gesture spread a lot of holiday cheer around the office.
Here are a few suggestions when it comes to swag:
Think about what the recipient would actually want or use
Be different from every other vendor out there.
Try to include the entire staff.
Choose something that fits with what your company is all about.
Swag that ends up in the trash is a huge waste on money. Get creative to ensure your swag delights and is memorable.
